Harbour Name: Los Cristianos Port / Puerto de Los Cristianos, South Tenerife.
Main Area for Cruises: Boat tour kiosks and departure pontoons along the harbour promenade, opposite the beach and close to the ferry terminal.
Closest Town Centre: Los Cristianos town, a short 5–10 minute walk from most hotels and apartments down towards the seafront.
Public Transport: Main bus stop at Los Cristianos Bus Station (Estación de Guaguas), with frequent services to Costa Adeje, Playa de las Américas and Tenerife South Airport.
Best Landmark to Aim For: The large harbour wall and ferry terminal next to Playa de Los Cristianos (the main town beach).

Best First-Time Route

If you’re staying in central Los Cristianos, simply walk downhill following signs for “Puerto / Harbour / Muelle” and Playa de Los Cristianos. Once you reach the seafront promenade, turn toward the ferry terminal and whale-watching kiosks – most cruises depart from here or nearby floating piers.

From Playa de las Américas / Costa Adeje

From nearby resorts, you can either walk the seafront promenade (around 30–45 minutes from central Playa de las Américas) or take a local bus or taxi to Los Cristianos Bus Station and then walk down to the harbour in about 10–15 minutes.

Option 1 — From South Tenerife Resorts

Ideal if you’re staying in Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas or Costa Adeje.

  • On Foot from Los Cristianos: Most hotels in town are within a 10–20 minute walk of the harbour. Walk downhill towards the beach, then follow the seafront promenade to the ferry terminal and excursion boats.
  • From Playa de las Américas: Walk the coast path past Playa de las Vistas to Los Cristianos (around 30–45 minutes), or take a short taxi or bus ride to Los Cristianos Bus Station and walk from there.
  • From Costa Adeje: Use buses that run to Los Cristianos (often via Playa de las Américas), or grab a taxi directly to the harbour. The ride is usually around 10–15 minutes depending on traffic.

Timing Tip

Always plan to arrive at the harbour at least 20–30 minutes before your cruise departure time to check in, find the right boat, and board calmly.

Option 2 — Buses & Public Transport

From Tenerife South Airport (TFS)

Take a public bus or airport shuttle towards Los Cristianos (routes vary by season and operator). Get off at or near the Los Cristianos Bus Station, then follow signs downhill to the town centre and harbour (about a 10–15 minute walk).

From Santa Cruz / North Tenerife

Long-distance buses connect Santa Cruz de Tenerife and other northern towns to South Tenerife resorts. Choose a service that terminates in or passes through Los Cristianos, then walk or taxi down to the port.

Local Bus Connections

The bus network (often branded “guaguas”) links Los Cristianos with nearby beaches, shopping areas and attractions. Check the latest route map, stop names and timetables before you travel.

Tickets & Payment

You can usually pay for buses by contactless card, travel card or ticket machine, depending on the operator. Having a small amount of cash or a contactless card ready speeds up boarding.

Wayfinding Tip

When using buses, aim for stops labelled “Los Cristianos”. From the station or central stops, keep heading downhill, following signs for “Puerto / Harbour / Muelle / Playa” until you reach the promenade and boat kiosks.

Option 3 — Scenic Walks Along the Seafront

Walking is one of the nicest ways to arrive at the Los Cristianos cruise area, especially if you’re staying close by. You’ll pass sandy beaches, cafés and ocean views on the way to your boat.

  • From Playa de Los Cristianos: If you’re already on the main town beach, simply walk towards the harbour wall and ferry terminal. Excursion kiosks and boarding points are just beyond, along the sheltered harbour.
  • From Playa de las Vistas: Follow the paved promenade south towards Los Cristianos town. As you pass the final stretch of beach, continue along the coast until you reach the harbour and boat jetties.

Photo Tip

Stop along the promenade for shots of whale-watching boats, ferries, and the volcanic coastline. It’s especially pretty around sunrise or late afternoon before sunset cruises.

From Tenerife Airports & Inter-Island Ferries

Tenerife South Airport (TFS)

The closest airport to Los Cristianos. You can reach the cruise area by airport bus, shared shuttle or taxi in roughly 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. Ask to be dropped near Los Cristianos port or town centre.

Tenerife North Airport (TFN)

From TFN, you’ll travel across the island by bus, shuttle or hire car to the south. Follow signs for Los Cristianos, then continue down to the harbour for your cruise.

Inter-Island Ferries

Ferries to islands like La Gomera, La Palma, El Hierro also use the Los Cristianos port. If you’re arriving by ferry and joining a cruise, check your tour voucher for the exact meeting point near the terminal.

Taxis & Rideshares

Taxis are plentiful around Los Cristianos and nearby resorts. Ask for “Puerto de Los Cristianos, zona excursiones” to be dropped close to the cruise departure area.

Luggage & Bags

Boat decks and gangways can be narrow. If possible, leave large suitcases at your accommodation and bring only a small daypack with essentials like water, sunscreen and a light jacket.

Driving, Parking & Accessibility

Driving to Los Cristianos Harbour

From the TF-1 motorway, follow exit signs towards Los Cristianos and then down to the port / harbour area. Traffic can be busy around peak ferry times, so allow extra time.

Parking

Look for paid car parks and on-street spaces around the town centre and near the port. Spaces right by the harbour are limited, so you may need to park a little further away and walk down to the cruise departure point.

Harbour Layout

The area is mostly flat and paved, with a mix of ferry zones, excursion boat piers and ticket kiosks. Give yourself a few extra minutes to find the correct boat number or company stand.

Accessibility

Many promenades and harbour areas have step-free access, but boarding some boats may involve steps or narrow gangways. If you have mobility needs, contact your cruise operator in advance to confirm accessibility and any assistance they can provide.

Practical Visit Tips for Los Cristianos Cruises

Arrive a Little Early

Aim to be at the harbour 20–30 minutes before departure. You’ll need time to check in, redeem your voucher, and locate the correct pier, especially during busy seasons.

What to Wear

Bring light, comfortable clothing, non-slip shoes and a windproof layer – it can feel cooler at sea than on the beach. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

Seasickness & Essentials

If you’re prone to motion sickness, consider taking medication in advance and choose a larger, more stable boat where possible. Pack water, a small snack and waterproof protection for your phone or camera.
